Our Stylists' guide to Valentine's Day Style
Dark restaurant. Corner table. Arriving separately. When you’ve been together a while (or forever or day), an old-fashioned V-Day date night is actually fresh and novel instead of cliché!
Instead of rocking up in standard work clothes, take the time to change into a fresh outfit your love hasn’t seen before and maybe even debut a sexy new fragrance. We’re envisioning a crisp blazer over a touchable tee, light-coloured pressed pants and loafers.
When you’re newly seeing each other, you’ve probably been eating and drinking out a lot anyway. Staying home, lighting some candles and cooking for your love might be the way to go. That doesn’t give you permission to be sloppy though. Dress sharp in smart casual attire that lends a sense of occasion to the evening.
Our stylists say a special night in like this calls for a button-up shirt, sharp chinos or good jeans, and leather sneakers.
Statistically speaking, December is the most common month for break-ups – so no wonder many fine fellows are still single by the time mid-February rolls around. You may be ecstatic about this or devastated. The only recourse is to round up your other single friends and make a night of it watching something fun and celebrating/commiserating.
If this is you, keep it cool and dignified in a premium tee, tailored shorts and espadrilles.
